Maritime Helicopters has been serving Alaska since 1973! We are an Alaskan-owned small business emphasizing safety, professionalism, and customer service. We are seeking an Accounting Manager to join our growing organization.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for supervising the accounting procedures of the company.
- Audit the work of the accounting department.
- Responsible for the development of policies, systems, special financial studies, etc. of major importance.
- Advise management on matters of fiscal procedure and importance for the organization.
- Ensure compliance with the financial procedures of the organization.
- Assist with annual commercial insurance renewals.
- Assist with the preparation of bids and contract proposals.
- Works with confidential data, which, if disclosed, might have significant internal or external effects.
- Support various functions related to benefits enrollments and human resource administration.
- Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in accounting, or equivalent work experience
- 2 years’ managerial experience
- QuickBooks experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Windows operating system
- Microsoft Excel proficiency
- Experience working in accounting systems
- Ability to build positive working relationships with internal and external customers and excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in achieving positive results and meeting deadlines
- Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Experience with government contracting and/or aviation preferred
